WAFFLES
A classic breakfast dish made from batter and cooked with a waffle iron.
INGREDIENTS:
● 2 cups flour
● 1 tsp baking powder
● Pinch of salt
● 2 eggs
● 2 tsp butter (melted)
● ½ cup milk
● drop of vanilla extract
● drop of lemon juice
● ¾ cup sugar
PROCEDURE:
1) Sift the flour in a large bowl, add a teaspoon of baking powder, a pinch of salt, and the sugar. Whisk these ingredients until they’re well incorporated.
2) In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients. Break 2 eggs in the bowl, add the melted butter, milk, vanilla extract and lemon juice. Combine these until well incorporated.
3) Pour a cup of the dry ingredients (the mixed flour) into the wet ingredients bowl and mix. Continue to add the flour and mix the batter until you have a semi thick batter that is not too thick and not too liquefied.
4) Grease your waffle maker with some butter and pour some batter into the waffle maker. Ensure not to scoop too much batter as it will spread in the waffle maker.
5) Once the light on the waffle maker goes off indicating that your waffles are ready, take it out of the waffle maker and repeat the process until you’ve used up all your batter.
6) Serve the waffles by stacking them on each other and dress the dish with some maple syrup, honey and any other topping of choice. Enjoy!
