INGREDIENTS:
½ cup brown sugar
Sausages
2 eggs
2 ½ flour
1 cup full cream milk
¼ cup corn starch
Any flavouring of choice
1 tbsp baking powder
2 tbsp melted unsalted butter
1 tsp salt
Oil for deep frying
PROCEDURE:
1) Sift 3 cups of flour in a large bowl and add the sugar, corn starch and baking powder.
Mix the dry ingredients well to ensure that they are well incorporated.
2) Take another bowl and proceed to mix the wet ingredients. Break 2 eggs into the bowl,
add the melted butter (ensure to measure 2 tablespoons of frozen butter then melt), milk
and flavouring. Mix the wet ingredients well to ensure they are well incorporated.
3) Carefully pour a cup of the dry ingredients into the bowl of wet ingredients and stir. The
batter needs to be of a semi thick consistency. Ensure not to pour the wet ingredients into
the dry one but rather pour the dry ingredients, one cup at a time, into the wet ingredients
bowl. Pour the dry mixture, a cup or half a cup at a time until the batter is semi-thick.
4) Cut the sausages in half and get skewers.
5) Cut the skewers in half too, so they’re not longer than the sausage. Insert the skewers into
each sausage so it is like a sausage on a stick. Do this until each sausage is on a skewer.
6) Preheat the oil.
7) Pour the batter into a large slender cup. Take a corn dog, dip it into the glass of batter
and carefully fry it in the oil. Fry the corn dogs on low to medium heat.
8) When done frying, take the corn dogs off heat and serve with a topping of mustard,
ketchup or any other topping of choice. Enjoy!
