CARROT BREAD ROLLS

Soft, homemade, freshly baked bread recipe that involves adding grated carrots into the bread dough filling, prior to baking the bread.

INGREDIENTS:

● 5 cups flour 

● 1 tbsp yeast

● 1/2 cup sugar

● Pinch of salt

● 3 carrots (grated)

● 2 eggs

● 1 cup milk

● 100g sticks unsalted butter

● Egg wash 

PROCEDURE:

1)  Sift the flour and pour it in a mixing bowl along with the sugar, yeast and salt. Mix this together then proceed to add the grated carrots and 2 eggs. You can mix this with your hand or with a stand mixer.

2) While the mixer is mixing or if manually, as you are mixing, pour in the milk and continue to mix for 1 minute.

3) Add in a 100g of butter and mix the dough until it is smooth. 

4) Place the dough in a bowl and cover it with a cloth. Ensure no air is able to escape.

5) After an hour, remove the cloth and cut the dough into smaller rations and mold each ration into a small bread roll. Repeat this until all your rations have been depleted.

6) Break 1 egg and add less than 1/4 cup of water. Beat this together and you have an egg wash.

7) Brush the egg wash over all the bread rolls and place the bread in an oven for 15 to 20 minutes at 250 °C.

8) Once the bread is done, take it out of the oven and serve.
